who we are

We are staff who advocate among lawmakers to protect wildlife policies, spend long days in the field restoring habitats, and who ensure smooth operations and financial stability for the organization. In fall of 2021, the supermajority of this dedicated staff voted to unionize our workforce, supported by OPEIU Local 2.

NLRB ISSUES FORMAL COMPLAINT AGAINST DEFENDERS OF WILDLIFE
The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has issued a formal complaint against Defenders of Wildlife, a national environmental non-profit based in Washington, D.C. The ruling resolves one of several Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) charges filed against Defenders by their staff union, Defenders United, represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), Local 2.
